Properties:​ Typically white or off-white solid powder. Melting point 119-122°C. Soluble in alcohols, acetone, benzene, and other organic solvents; slightly soluble in chloroform or methanol; insoluble in water. Density approx. 1.01 g/cm³. Very low toxicity; oral LD₅₀ in rats >15 g/kg.

Applications:​ A commonly used high-efficiency phenolic antioxidant, primarily employed to prevent aging and degradation of plastics, rubber, and other materials. Widely applied in synthetic resins, synthetic rubber, and natural rubber, including ABS resin, polyethylene, polypropylene, and light-colored rubber products. In fuel oils, prevents oxidative discoloration and acid value increase. In food industry, used in edible oils, biscuits, instant noodles, etc., to delay rancidity. Also serves as a key raw material for producing phosphite antioxidants.
